We are Victoria and David Harber, and along with our daughter Éowyn, we are proud to welcome you to a pub rich in heritage, character, and a sprinkling of J.R.R. Tolkien charm.

Whether you are a lifelong regular, a village newcomer, or just passing through Hampshire, our aim is to give you a genuine, comfortable local pub experience from the moment you walk through the door.

Meet the Team

Good pubs are all about good people, and hospitality is what we do best:

• Victoria is an award-winning hospitality manager with 30 years of experience welcoming guests. Her background covers everything from intimate village locals to large-scale event spaces, bringing a sharp eye for detail and high standards to every part of the pub.
• David started his first pub role in 1990. Decades later, he will tell you that the true key to running a happy and successful pub is simple: “agreeing with the wife.”

Together, our goal is straightforward: great drinks, honest hospitality, and a place where everyone feels at home.

In the Heart of Overton

Situated right in the centre of the village, The Red Lion is a convenient, friendly stop for both locals and visitors exploring the surrounding area:

• Visiting Bombay Sapphire? We are a favourite spot for visitors to the Bombay Sapphire distillery. The distillery is just a gentle 20-minute walk down the road (and about a 40-minute stroll on the way back!).
• Travelling by Motorhome? We welcome campervans and motorhomes. Please get in touch with us here to check space and availability before you arrive.

• Distinctive Drinks: We are the village’s exclusive home of ‘The Lionheart’ as well as Brighton’s favourite tipple, Tuaca. You will also find Jeremy Clarkson’s popular Hawkstone range on our bar.
